We are registered with the Information Commissioners Office as GADCCTI Ltd (registration number ZA433782). As a data controller we are responsible for deciding what data we collect and how we hold and use personal data.
We collect and process a variety of personal information about our members which includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, social media profiles. We also collect business information in relation to our members this includes business addresses, demographic information such as the industry sector of the business and details of Chamber services the users may be interested in (e.g. events and training courses).
We also hold photograph images of our events.
The personal data collected is used by the Chamber to give you information relation to Chamber membership, the Chamber’s website, other Chamber services including administration, events, awards, and account management. Our Legal Basis for processing membership data is shown in the table below:

ASCC is a membership organisation connecting and supporting its membership and the wider business community and influencing the environment in which business operates. To deliver our legitimate business interests, we must understand the areas of interest that our members have and what events they attend.
The personal data collected is used by the Chamber to give you information relation to Chamber membership and carry out Chamber services including administration dealing with prospective members, account management. Personal data is also processed when you to use the Chamber’s website, vote in our awards or book events on Eventbrite portal.
We collect information directly from individuals or from the parent companies of an individual. Occasionally we will receive details from a third party for example when they are booking an event using our Eventbrite portal. Where we receive information from your colleagues or company we make sure that you have consented to your information being collected and processed by us. Such information may be collected through e-mails, phone calls, online registration forms, awards voting, event registration forms, job applications and face to face meetings.
The Chamber website has a cookie banner which allows you to opt out of the use of cookies.
Where we work with third parties and receive information about you from them we will make this clear to you before we process this information.
Where we take photographs at our events we will make this clear and offer participants the opportunity to ask not to have their photograph taken at each event.
The Chamber may perform statistical analyses of user behaviour and characteristics to measure interest in and the use of various sections of the website and our services. When we do this we aggregate the data and remove any personal identifiers.
We share personal information with our sub processors Eventbrite, SurveyMonkey, Xero and our professional advisors, website and IT providers.

We keep personal data in relation to our members for 7 years after the point at which they cease to be a member. Thereafter unless the information includes an application for membership or is required to be kept by law we will dispose of the data securely (by shredding or deleting files).

Technical and organisational measures are in place to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and the regulator of a suspected breach where we are required to do so. Our employees and volunteers are trained on data security and information protection.
The Chamber sends promotional material promoting its events, training courses, membership services, business support services, policy and research work and other relevant offerings to the nominated point of contact in member companies. If your parent company has nominated you as a relevant contact required to receive information on its behalf, you cannot opt out of important information the Chamber is required to provide you as per the Chamber's contractual obligations to its members.
Where we send marketing emails and you do not wish to receive marketing material, you may opt out by notify the Chamber by email or in writing of your wishes.
Where appropriate the Chamber may provide links to third-party web sites, or advertisements which contain links to third-party sites on the website. These links are provided as a service to website users. The linked third-party websites are operated by independent entities that have their own privacy policies. This Privacy Policy does not apply to such other websites or to the use that those entities make of your information. The Chamber has no control over the content displayed on such sites, nor over the measures, if any, that are taken by such sites to protect the privacy of your information.
We may use third party provided tools to manage our social media interactions. If you send us a private or direct message via social media the message may be stored on such a tool, but like other personal data, these direct messages will not be shared with any other organisations.
